We first got Kody from a breeder just outside of Atlanta, GA last October.
The Breeder "By Design" offers high quality Great Pyrenees sired from champions. Kody's father is Dandylylon By Design and his mother is Laudley Drifts Solitaire or Leo and Rose. Kody has an extremely gentle and intelligent demeanor. He learns quickly, has never been sick, has never poohed in the house ever, and has never chewed on anything but his toys. Kody is smart, gentle, loyal, good with children and other pets. Great Pyrenees are herding dogs by nature and will try to herd you when the mood strikes, They are curious and when something attracts his attention he will stop and look until he's ready to move on again. Also when he's ready to sit, he will sit, until he's ready to move on. Kody is basically fearless. On one occassion a dog came running and snarling at Kody, Kody just sat down and looked at the dog, as this attacking dog got within 10 feet and saw Kody's size and total lack of fear the attacking dog turned and ran off.
Great Pyrenees are bred to herd and protect live stock, They have been known to kill wolves and they go out and run the perimeter of their property to ensure all is well. Great Pyrenees will also develop a protective sense for their pack (their family or you) unknown intruders and unknown animals coming onto their property should take caution. Socialization and obediance training is a must with this breed as a dog, the size they will become, will not make a good pet if they are out of control. A fenced yard and a leash are a must.
I highly recommend studying this breed if you are considering one for a pet. Also speak to several good breeders as to your needs and desires in what you want out of a breed. I will discuss traits of this breed later. For my wife and I Kody has turned out to be a giant, gentle love bug and a perfect pet. Please continue on visiting our web site.
